Limpetboy goes Pro

Yes i decided to slash out all of about £15 and get a pro Flickr account. It had to be done really with the ammount of photos i am building up i needed somewhere to put them all, and now i do. Just hope somebody enjoys them, and we will see how my skills (or lack of) progess, especially as i want an new camera, ooh what to have. I'm torn at the moment between these two:- Do i go for full on digital SLR www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos350d/ Or Do i get the all inclusive prosumer digicam www.dpreview.com/news/0507/05072803fuji_s9000zs9500z.asp I don't know yet, time will tell

I Can't Stop Fiddling

Not with myself, well that's not what I was referring to in this instance. I mean my template of course. Being totally bored at work gives you just to much time to fiddle, fnar, Double entendre's don't you just love 'em, it's like living in a Carry on movie (Queue Sid James laugh) Ha Ha Ha. Any way back to the point, I was getting bored of the old template so tried a new one but got bored of that too, hopefully I'll stick with this one, although I might tweak the colours slightly if I ever find out how to do that.

The Brew is on

Yes I have finally started the 40 pinter of cider yesterday, and it is nicely frothing away as the those lovely yeasties turn all that sugar into lovely alcohol. So a week in the bucket fermenting then it goes into the pressure barrel for another couple of weeks and after that to drink when ever. Ooh I can't wait, hopefully it will be nice and flavoursome. Right whens the party!!!!!

Flammable Homebrew Accident!!!

Image
Not entirely sure what happened here with this photo but Ross seems to have caught on fire after Chudplug got too close with the scented candles. You can also see Ross with his concoction before this terrible accident. But seriously was a good night the even the weather couldn't put a dampener on in the end, and well done with the barbeque skills to Lee and Putin for a valiant effort despite the rain and eye watering smoke.

Football Friendly

Image
Well yesterday was certainly a full day which started with the Spurs v Reading friendly. It was my first biggish football match in quite a while, as i don't think Hamilton Accies really count. Was an ok game, the first half was rather scrappy with Spurs getting 2 goals, but on the whole the second half was a lot better with much more fluid play, and showed that Reading weren't as such small fry compared to their Premiership opponents. Was an enjoyable game and we even got to see Edgar Davids in the directors box.

Homebrew Countdown

Image
Well everything is all present and correct, it's just a matter of when and which one? Will it be a nice Australian lager or a lovely country cider? Also when will i do it as it needs to be sometime around a gathering so it will get used, as i'm not sure if i can drink 40 pints on my own, well maybe if i was on top form i could. May have to be an excuse for a party, if only i have sorted this out in time for this weekend, would have been good.

Yay another post

Image
Blimey i've managed to post something else, not that this will say much. Just getting over being i'll at the moment, i don't know what is the point of viruses are, they're rubbish, all they do is replicate, i mean prions can do that and they aren't even considered to be alive, they're just protein, they don't even have RNA. Any how but i still managed to play squash today after work, and even on the verge of death played an alright game. Also updated my Flickr page with some new photos if you fancy a peruse www.flickr.com/photos/limpetboy But in case you can't be bother here are a couple or three, had to add the last one as someone actually added a comment on Flickr and said nice shot....Fame at last.

Next post in 6 months?

Image
Well finally another post here after over 6 months absence, so much has happened and has been a busy week last week. Cinema, park, BBQ, Kings of Leon gig, tennis, golf i'm fecking knackered. Also thought i would post a photo i took today, i was experimenting trying to take a photo of a water droplet. Seeing as i did this on my lunch break from work, and i didn't have much time, i'm quite proud of this one.

Crimo Party

Just Like to say thanks to everyone who came to the party and hope you all had a good time, I can certainly say I enjoyed it. Much food and drink was had by all and some were a bit worse for wear by the end, namely Carl. Roll on Christmas Day, presents aplenty.

I don't know what Bert was doing to Putin but it certainly made him stand to attention

Website of Choice: Chavtastic

Thanks my dear friend Carl (as he found it) I have come across this great website. http://www.chavscum.com/ You can brush up on all your chav spotting needs, and on your celebrity chavs. Also check out their shop with some great t-shirts. I was tempted to get one but I don't think the local chav population would take too kindly to it and would likely get my head kicked in. I don't know about you but has there be some sort of chav population explosion recently as they seem to be multiplying like rabbits. Speaking of which does anybody know what the chav equivalent of myxomatosis is, maybe we could introduce it to keep the population under control.

Work Woes

Work, i spit on you, hak-puht. I so hate work, well actually i don't hate work, as the actual work is alright, what i hate is the company, Namely Vodafone. (hak-puht, Your mother is a hampster and your father smells of elderberies, i fart in your general direction). If you ever get the chance to work for this company i wouldn't bother, as i have found although it may be a good company customer-wise, as for it staff it couldn't give a toss. That is unless you are middle management or higher, then you get lots of perks. The reasons i would say for this is middle management, the top bods want a happy workforce but it all gets scewed up in the middle. I blame people in middle management trying to make themselves look good with their great ideas. He's an idea though try asking the people who know and do the various jobs, instead of your unfounded great ideas that are generally rubbish and end up causing more work. Well thats my rant over, if my bosses see this dole ...

Christmas is Coming

Its December finally and christmas is around the corner, wahey!!! Over a week off work(thank god), crap telly and half a tonne of dead animals over the festive period, i love it!!! I have spent a fortune this year. Only just over a week 'til my christmas party, should be a good one. Plenty of alcohol, karaoke and other games to humiliate yourself, you can't go wrong. Stay tuned for an update of this afterwards.

Long Time No Blog Part 2

Naughty little limpetboy, I don't call I and write. Where have I been a here you ask, nowhere and haven't done anything of great interest, a bit of this a bit of that.

PC Heaven to PC Hell

All was going well with my computer until I thought the time came to upgrade my graphics card. Fairly straight forward I thought, apparently not. I was going to go for a top of the range one, as I thought why not, plus it would last longer. Then I find that computers come with different power supplies units and mine wouldn't be strong enough, bugger. Then I find out you can get new ones with more power, sorted.....apparently not. I have a Dell, which I thought was a good make...... apparently not. Yes those bastards at Dell use a lot of bespoke kit so you cant easily upgrade your computer with non Dell parts, so a new PSU wouldn't fit, arse. So I have had to buy a cheaper graphics card that is rather rapidly becoming obsolete in the wake of games like Doom 3. So next time I get a computer I'm going to build the bugger myself.

PC heaven finally achieved.

Well nearly there anyway. After having my computer for month i have finally got round the dvd rom problem on my PC. I was a totally bizarre problem in that it would play everything else includung dvd movies and even burn dvd roms but not play them. I finally stumped up the courage to open up my computer and put in the old dvd drive from my old computer (glad i kept that). Low and behold it works, not bad seeing as i really don't know much about computers. Lovely now i can play Deus Ex 2 after having it for 4 months. Horrah.

Long Time No Blog

All is quiet on the blogern front, but thanks to popular demand (a couple of requests anyway) it is back. Sadly it has been quiet due to my severe disabilities, well procastination and a short attention span. well here is to a new more regularly updated blog........hopefu..............(oh look new DVD's)

Weekend of 2 Halves

So lets start with the good........ Got the expansion pack for Call of Duty (what class), come on everybody lets go kill some Germans (please note this is the aim of the game, not my psychopathic wishes, as this game is based on WWII as started by the mustachioed mental German, Hitler). Ah what fun. Also saw Hero which I really liked, it was less of a film more a piece of art. Now the Bad....... Our water tank decided to start leaking and created some nice wet patches all over the house. Fearing hundred of pounds worth of plumber bills my sisters fiance came to the rescue and managed to fix it all the about £5......phew.

The Weekend Arrives

Ah Fridays how I love thee so, you are my most favourite of days, except for Saturday and mostly Sunday, But you are my most favouritest working weekday. Work sucks, what idiot invented it. If only I could win the lottery, but that requires you to buy a ticket. Surely the government should set up a scheme to fund chronically lazy people such as myself so we don't have to work, we're not productive to society anyway.
